Job Title- Seasonal Assistant Athletic Trainer
The Birmingham Legion are searching for a highly motivated young professional seeking experience in professional soccer. In this role you will work closely with the Head Athletic Trainer and Director of Performance and Health to provide top care for the first team, USL2, U-20 and USLW.
The Assistant Athletic Trainer Will
- Provide comprehensive care including first aid, emergency response, injury evaluation, treatment and rehab plans
- Support training sessions and scrimmages with set up and teardown, hydration, and sideline/emergency equipment
- Assist in cleaning and maintaining a safe training room environment
- Assist in cleaning equipment, including but not limited to cold/hot tubs and hydrocollator
- Assist in coverage of home games
- Coverage for all “Path to Pro” (USL2, U-20, USLW) trainings and home games
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team including physicians, physical therapists, chiropractors, massage therapists and performance staff
- Assist in development and execution of injury prevention strategies and return to play protocols
- Maintain accurate and up to date player health records in teams EMR
- Complete and required league training
- Any other duties assigned by the Head Athletic Trainer
Our Ideal Candidate
- Master’s degree in athletic training
- 0-2 years as a Certified Athletic Trainer
- NATA BOC Certification in good standing
- Eligible for Alabama Licensure
- Desire to work in Professional Soccer
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Team- first attitude, collaborative and willingness to help in all areas
- Reliable, professional and adaptable to a fast-paced environment
