Overview The Senior Program Coordinator plays a critical role in leading and supporting Soccer Without Borders’ mission by overseeing program quality, managing staff, and fostering community relationships. This position combines leadership, direct service, logistical oversight, and administrative tasks to ensure effective and impactful programming for newcomer youth. Leadership and Supervision (30%) ● Supervise and provide professional development for 2 Program Coordinators, ensuring their growth and success in their roles. ● Support the training, onboarding, and ongoing evaluation of coaches. ● Lead the SWB Global Goal 5 League in the East Bay, managing logistics, coach communication, and seasonal planning. ● Lead strategic season planning for the Girls Program across middle and high school levels by convening coaches to align on long-term goals, timelines, and key milestones, ensuring the program maintains a cohesive vision beyond week-to-week operations. ● Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with school faculty, site staff, and the broader community to support program growth. ● Oversee and support the delivery of high-quality programming for assigned teams. ● Prepare and submit seasonal reports on program progress, challenges, and impact. Direct Service (50%) ● Lead comprehensive, holistic, and youth-centered programming with newcomer youth throughout the year, including after-school and summer programming ● Direct program planning & facilitation using the 9-point practice plan and Complete Season Checklist ● Academic monitoring and advocacy (Meet Me on the Pitch Curriculum) ● Saturday Game Preparation (including transportation coordination with Supervisor) ● Lead player recruitment and retention efforts. ● Communicate with schools and teachers regarding participant needs. ● Support conversations with school faculty to review and align on budget and program priorities. ● Conduct family engagement efforts, including home visits and mentorship check-ins as needed. ● Ensure all Child Safeguarding policies are followed and enforced. Monitoring and Evaluation (10%) ● Ensure all players are entered into UpShot and have completed profiles (initial entry after first session; full profile by session 10). ● Monitor and ensure accurate attendance is logged for all sessions in UpShot. ● Implement evaluations as required by SWB or program partners. Program/Organization-Wide Responsibilities (10%) ● Participate in weekly SWB Bay Area staff meetings and facilitate as needed. ● Actively participate in SWB-wide culture-building, connection, and professional development via SWB Wednesdays ● Represent SWB at conferences, community events, and with media as appropriate. Commitment The Program Coordinator position is a full-time position based at our Oakland, CA office, beginning in July 2025 (flexible). To accommodate after-school and weekend games and activities, SWB Bay Area’s standard work week is Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm. While the majority of this position will be completed during these times, occasional events and training will occur outside of these work hours. This whole-person approach has led to an average annual retention rate of over 90% for full-time staff. The salary for this position will be $54,000-$60,000.
