DescriptionJOB SUMMARY:
Miami Country Day School was founded in 1938, but its origins are closely tied to the world of Summer Programs, where its success was based on a very simple key – total involvement for eight weeks, in a world of nature, sports, creative activity, excitement, wonder, and the instinctive knowledge of the needs and desires of its campers.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & TASKS:
- Greets and communicates with parents and participants. Must be able to engage and build genuine relationships with parents/participants and make all feel welcome.
- Ensures a safe and risk free environment at all times while meeting the individual needs of the participants.
- Serves as a role model to campers of all ages at all times.
- Exhibits good judgement, enthusiasm,
- enthusiasm for the activities and a strong awareness of safety
- Demonstrates knowledge of sports structure, rules, and regulations
- Ensures all campers participate in all activities
- Organizes small-sided soccer games and activities
- Conducts daily inventory of equipment
- Responsible to set up and take down soccer field and equipment daily
- Responsible for understanding ALL emergency procedures associated with the camp program
- Responsible for enforcing and following all safety guidelines associated with the camp and all program areas
- Records all accident/incident reports and notify the nurse and Director of Soccer Camp immediately
- Identify where all campers are at all times by managing small and large groups, utilizing the buddy system and frequent head counts to ensure each camper is safe and well behaved
- Monitors campers at all times including the swimming pool, inside the gym, and at lunch in the cafeteria
- Arrives to shift on time and record hours worked honestly and accurately
- Communicates with parents and address parents’ concerns in a timely manner. Seek the help of the Soccer Camp Director when necessary
- Must wear appropriate Soccer attire
- Follows Miami Country Day School policies
QualificationsKNOWLEDGE SKILLS & ABILITIES:
- Ability to lift up to 30lbs.
- May work long hours for extended periods of time.
- Works in varied and extreme weather conditions, including extreme heat.
- Ability to move all types of soccer equipment: regulation soccer goals, 6x12 goals, small goals, cones, flags, etc
- Use of technology (cell phones, laptops, iPad, etc) is prohibited during working hours.
Contract terms:
- 7-week seasonal contract: June 8 – July 24, 2026
- Monday through Friday, from 8:15 AM to 3:30 PM
- Expected 36 hours/week*alternative hours may be scheduled on an as-needed basis, pending program activities/needs
Uniform is required daily (except when noted otherwise). Personal use of technology (including smartphones, tablets, and personal computers) is restricted during work hours (unless on a personal break, away from parents and campers)
