THE POSITION
Reporting organizationally to the Manager of Workforce & Recruitment in Mexico, the Workforce & Recruitment Specialist will help serve Workforce full life cycle recruitment efforts for the FIFA World Cup 2026 that for the first time ever, is hosting 48 teams and 1,200+ players across 3 countries and 16 venues. This role will be responsible for providing comprehensive recruitment administrative support, assisting in managing workforce operations, including the smooth coordination of onboarding tasks and activities.
Further, this role will oversee the candidate experience through the employee lifecycle, coordinating recruitment process and workforce operations, maintaining records and documents, assisting with logistical arrangements, and providing general HR support to ensure smooth operations for the FIFA World Cup 2026
The main responsibilities and oversights of the Workforce & Recruitment Specialist for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:
Partner with Function Area Leaders to understand the service levels, deliverables and people-related needs within their workstream/department/division.
Manage the recruitment requirements, post creation, screening and interviewing process, background checks and follow up on the recruitment workflow with ownership of their roles and awareness of impact of their operation with all the functional areas, creating a great candidate experience.
Collaborate closely with the workforce operations team and related functional areas to manage, integrate and deliver a consistent operational project, for all aspects of the Workforce Operations Program ensuring appropriate and optimized resources to deliver the agreed service levels.
Work with key service providers and scope all physical operations spaces, such as Catering, Transport, Overlay, Technology and other spaces associated with workforce delivery on site.
Manage scheduling for the Workforce Operations Team and support the Workforce Services team in ensuring scheduling deadlines are met across all FA’s.
Use stats and reports to analyze your contribution and learn for the future, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information in accordance with established protocols and compliance guidelines, and assisting in data entry and management
Handle ad-hoc administrative tasks and special projects as assigned, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic event environment.
Stay updated on Recruitment trends and best practices and adapt them to the specific needs and requirements of the FIFA World Cup 2026.

The specific competencies we require for this position are:
Bachelor’s degree in Administration, Psychology or Sports management.
Experience working full cycle recruitment and/or a minimum of 2 years of experience on regional to international event management.
Willing to work with the HR team as much as the event operation
Expertise in using various social media platforms to advance traction on sourcing of key roles.
Demonstrated ability to project manage, prioritize effectively, and work independently, acting as a facilitator and problem solver.
Excellent client service, communication skills and capacity to facilitate the needs of multiple business units.
Experience working within a multicultural and or multinational organization.
