POSITION SUMMARY
This is a full-time position based in Chicago, focusing on scouting and player recruitment for the Chicago Stars FC first team. The successful candidate will utilize a combination of domestic live match scouting, video analysis, and data-driven insights to identify potential future player prospects for the organization. Flexibility to work evenings and weekends, along with travel as needed, is essential to this role.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
The successful candidate will:
  • Demonstrate expertise and high level of knowledge of the domestic women’s soccer landscape.
  • Identify and evaluate potential players through live scouting, video review, and data analysis.
  • Prepare detailed written and video scouting reports to inform recruitment decisions.
  • Build and maintain the up-to-date scouting database from Chicago Stars FC Scouting department.
  • Conduct market research to stay ahead of emerging trends and uncover opportunities.
  • Cultivate a deep understanding of players in key markets, focusing domestically on the US market.
  • Exhaustive knowledge about the US youth soccer environment (GA/ECNL/NCAA).
  • Collaborate with management, technical personnel, and executives to align scouting efforts with club objectives.
  • Assist with tournament planning and scouting logistics for domestic tournaments/College tournaments as needed.
  • Assist video and data-based projects under the guidance of the GM and Assistant GM.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
SPECIFIC JOB KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
The ideal candidate will:
  • Demonstrate expertise in women soccer scouting processes, with proven experience in talent identification.
  • Possess excellent communication, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Be proficient in modern scouting tools and video analysis software (e.g., Wyscout, SICS).
  • Have advanced knowledge of data and performance analysis (preferred).
  • Have advanced knowledge in women soccer, college soccer, US soccer landscape youth pathway, regional youth soccer landscape Illinois and beyond.
  • Show attention to detail, with the ability to deliver accurate work under time constraints.
  •  Bring an enthusiastic and proactive approach to identifying top soccer talent.
  • Work in a team.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree or similar degree in Sports Science, Performance Analysis or Scouting.
  • Coaching certification (preferred).
  • Prior experience as a scout in the women soccer environment within the US environment.
