About Project 208 FC

Founded in 2024, 208 FC is a competitive, non-profit, all-girls soccer club, serving approximately 150 female players, ranging in age from U5-U19. Our mission is to develop confident young women while helping each player to reach her soccer potential in a fun, supportive environment. We focus on long-term player and personal development by fostering a love of the game, sportsmanship, teamwork, technical and tactical growth, community involvement, and the pursuit of team and personal goals.

Position Overview

The Technical Director oversees the overall soccer development framework of 208 FC. This role provides leadership, structure and coaching methodology, player development, and club-wide playing philosophy. The Technical Director works closely with the board, coaches, players, and families to ensure consistent, high-level experiences across all teams. This is a leadership position for someone passionate about developing strong female athletes through the sport of soccer, and building a healthy, values-driven club culture.

Key Responsibilities

Coach Support and Development

Recruit, develop, support and retain quality coaches aligned with the club values.

Refine and implement 208 FC Development Plans for 7v7, 9v9, and 11v11 coaches.

Attend practices and games regularly, giving technical direction and feedback to coaches and players. 

Provide coaching education programs and development sessions, as well as certification and license pathways where appropriate. 

 

Player Development and Coaching

Serve as head coach for 1–3 11v11 teams (season dependent) to model club methodology and support player development.

Oversee team and individual development pathways based on US Soccer player development principles.

Provide regular focused skill set coaching sessions (e.g., shooting sessions).

Develop and implement constructive player evaluations.

Help identify opportunities for advanced players (ID camps, showcases, etc.).

Program Oversight

Lead seasonal planning and year-round curriculum for all age groups.

Maintain and ensure quality and consistency across training sessions.

Conduct team meetings every season with parents, managers, and players.

Facilitate club wide tryouts for every age group and help with registration process.

Organize and execute local play opportunities, including summer camp and tournaments.

Required

3+ years’ coaching experience in competitive youth club soccer (or higher level).

Strong vision and philosophical understanding of developing confident youth athletes through love of sport.

Excellent communication and organizational skills.

Commitment to player-first decision making.

Positive, growth mindset and demonstrated proactive leadership skills.

Preferred

USSF, UEFA, or equivalent coaching license.

Experience in a Technical Director or Director of Coaches role.

Success in building curriculum or club-wide methodology.

Additional income opportunities (as approved by the board), such as private coaching, execution of local tournaments, summer camps, and ODP involvement.
