VP STRATEGY & ANALYTICS

Summary:

The Vice President of Strategy & Analytics will be responsible for overseeing the club’s data strategy, leading a team of analysts, and collaborating with key stakeholders to deliver actionable insights that support the club’s objectives. Five or more years leading BI strategy in a stadium setting is required. This role demands a leader with a deep understanding of stadium pricing, product creation for entertainment, data analytics and a proven ability to drive strategic initiatives through data. The ideal candidate will be a seasoned professional with a strong background in business intelligence, analytics, and team leadership.

Key Responsibilities:

Ticketing and Partner Asset Pricing and Strategy

  • Lead the development, review, and continuous optimization of the club’s seating and ticket pricing strategy, including season tickets, premium products, single match, mini plans, group plans, and dynamic/variable pricing models
  • Partner with Ticketing, Premium, and Finance to build data-driven pricing frameworks based on demand, market benchmarks, customer behavior, and inventory yield
  • Lead the development and ongoing review of partnership inventory pricing and valuation frameworks, ensuring alignment with market trends, audience data, and brand exposure metrics

Data Strategy and Governance:

  • Continue the develop of the Club’s comprehensive data strategy aligned with business goals.
  • Evaluate and select appropriate data management tools and technologies to support the data ecosystem.
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive business intelligence strategy that aligns with the club’s goals and objectives.
  • Leverage Salesforce CRM to unify fan, ticketing, and partnership data
  • Lead and manage the Strategy & Analytics team, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the design, development, and deployment of advanced analytics solutions, including dashboards, reports, and predictive models.
  • Ensure the integrity, accuracy, and security of data across all platforms and systems used by the club. Establish and maintain data governance policies and procedures.

Internal and External Stakeholder Management

  • Work closely with the Marketing, Fan Engagement, and Digital teams to analyze fan behavior, optimize campaigns, and enhance the overall fan experience.
  • Partner with Ticketing, Operations, and Finance teams to drive revenue growth, optimize pricing strategies, and improve operational efficiency.
  • Collaborate with senior leadership and department heads to identify key business challenges and opportunities, translating them into data-driven strategies.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external data providers and technology partners to enhance the club’s data capabilities.
  • Monitor industry trends and innovations in business intelligence, adopting best practices and new technologies to maintain a competitive edge.
  • Present insights, findings, and strategic recommendations to senior leadership and the Board, influencing high-level decision-making.
  • Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) across the club, providing regular updates to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidates can meet the requirements with a combination of experience in the following areas:

  • 5+ years leading BI strategy with respect to pricing and product development at a stadium.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Analytics, Economics, or a related field.
  • A Master’s degree or MBA is preferred.
  • 10+ years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or a related field, with at least 5 years in a senior or managerial role.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Ability to translate technical data to stakeholders to inform decisions
  • Knowledge of ticketing systems (Ticketmaster preferred)
  • Previous experience with CRM tools (Salesforce strongly preferred)
  • Previous experience with marketing automation tools is a plus
  • Experience in Sports or Entertainment particularly in soccer, is highly desirable.
  • Cross functionally focused (ability to persuade and influence decision making and consensus building)
  • Experience with machine learning, AI, and predictive modeling
  • Working knowledge of modern cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Google Cloud, AWS)
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Looker Studio). Data modeling tools (e.g., SQL, R, Python) is a plus.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to mentor and develop talent.
  • Passion for soccer and a deep understanding of the MLS landscape.
