POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Groundskeeper, in conjunction with the Groundskeeping staff, will be responsible for maintaining the natural grass and synthetic fields at a designated Nashville SC facility. This is a full-time position with majority of the hours worked at the academy facility (Currey Ingram Academy). During busy periods at either Geodis Park or the first-team training facility (Vanderbilt Health Training Center), this position, with ample notice, may be assigned to work for extended periods of time at either of those locations as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist with maintenance of natural grass, as well as synthetic fields at Nashville SC facilities - including but not limited to Nashville SC’s trainings, home matches, concerts, football games, and rugby matches at Geodis Park.
- Complete preventive maintenance on various pieces of equipment and ensure all equipment remains in working and operational condition.
- Repair and maintain exterior grounds (in conjunction with landscaping services), including snow and ice removal.
- Perform daily field maintenance.
- Perform other duties to support the Nashville SC facilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 2 years relevant work experience in maintaining sports fields, golf courses or home lawn/landscape (preferred).
- Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and information.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills, detail oriented, and deadline driven.
- Hours are variable and will include early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays in addition to the traditional Monday through Friday hours.
- Ability to perform physical labor in various degrees of outdoor weather conditions, including but not limited to, extreme heat and cold or rain for extended periods of time.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday.
- Ability to work in various positions, including but not limited to, stooping, standing, bending over, sitting, kneeling, and squatting for extended periods of time.
