Who are we hiring?
The Kansas City Current is seeking a driven and relationship-focused Manager, Corporate Partnership Activations to support the execution, growth, and overall success of the Club’s corporate partnerships. This individual will be responsible for managing day-to-day relationships with partners to ensure contractual obligations are fulfilled, strategic objectives are met, and long-term value is delivered.
 
The Manager, Corporate Partnership Activations will have ownership of accounts and are accountable in planning, delivering and managing the relationship and the partner agreement. Our partners are key members in our community and this role is expected to assist with revenue expansion and renewal with our partners. This position will be actively involved in all aspects of the Partnership Department’s operations, including community programs, digital campaigns, special event planning, brand management, and media management.
 
The Manager, Corporate Partnership Activations will report directly to the Vice President, Corporate Partnerships and play a key role in deepening the Club’s connection to fans, partners, and the broader Kansas City community.
 
What will you do?  
  • Manage, activate, and maintain relationships with corporate partners, ensuring successful execution of contractual obligations and partner objectives
  • Optimizing existing accounts through outstanding customer service
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the organization (KC Current) and assigned partners
  • Explore and understand partners’ business goals, industry trends, and marketing objectives
  • Track sponsorship asset fulfillment, measure partnership effectiveness, and demonstrate ROI 
  • Deliver post-activation, mid-season, and end-of-year recap reports to partners
  • Prepare and deliver business proposals and presentations to existing clients
  • Assist in developing renewal proposals for assigned partners
  • Work closely with the Corporate Partnerships Sales Manager to maximize cross-promotional opportunities
  • Manage and maintain assigned contracts, ensuring compliance and fulfillment.  
  • Support the creation of new sponsorship assets/inventory in collaboration with the Corporate Partnerships team
  • Coordinate venue digital signage and assist the VP of Partnerships with static signage installation.  
  • Maintain and update digital assets (scoreboard, IPTV, pitch boards, etc.) on matchdays
  • Work with marketing, promotions, ticket sales, PR, community relations, and other departments to maximize cross-selling opportunities
  • Coordinate partner-related events, community projects, and social media campaigns
  • Maintain a regular cadence of meetings with assigned corporate partners
  • Attend games and special events to entertain partners and prospects
  • Assist with matchday operations and special events as needed
  • Deliver unprecedented customer service with a high level of responsiveness and productivity
  • Maintain fiscal accountability by effectively managing assigned budgets
What do you need to succeed? 
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, sports management or a related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of applicable work experience, 3+ years in partnership activation, with preferred background in sports or live entertainment industries. 
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple partners simultaneously with complex logistics and high client experience. 
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Solutions-oriented and strong decision-making skills.
 Special requirements of the Job:
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, inclusive of weekends, nights (event evenings & overnight operation shifts) and holidays.
  • Ability to monitor company communications and respond to time-sensitive matters with senior executives. 
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and move around the venue for extended periods of time, often during events or facility setup and breakdown.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 pounds as needed for event setup, equipment management, or assisting with operational needs.
  • Requires occasional bending, squatting, and reaching overhead to handle various tasks related to facility management, equipment, and event preparation.
  • Must be capable of working in physically demanding environments, including navigating stairs, ramps, and elevated platforms
  • Ability to work outdoors continuously for extended periods of time in all weather conditions.
  • Travel may be required, 5%
  • All other duties as assigned
