THE POSITION Reporting organizationally to the Head of Recruiting, the Recruitment Manager will play a critical and high-impact role in driving large-scale workforce hiring and operational readiness for the FIFA World Cup 2026™. This is an extremely high-volume and high-intensity position — not a traditional recruitment role — requiring exceptional organization, resilience, and the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
The Recruitment Manager will not only facilitate full-cycle recruitment but also lead and execute various workforce-related initiatives that involve filling hundreds of positions across multiple workforce types, each with unique processes, systems, and compliance requirements. This role demands strong project management capabilities, meticulous attention to detail, and the ability to maintain accuracy and efficiency while operating under significant pressure and evolving deadlines.

The ideal candidate will thrive in ambiguity, possess strong leadership and problem-solving skills, and demonstrate the ability to build, refine, and scale processes to meet the operational needs of a global event.
This is a dynamic, hands-on role that requires balancing high-volume recruitment with strategic workforce execution — managing competing priorities, coordinating across functions, and ensuring delivery excellence for one of the largest sporting events in history.
This will be a 6-month temporary contract role.
The main responsibilities and oversights of the Recruitment Specialist for the FIFA World Cup 26™ include:
- Lead end-to-end recruitment processes, from initial talent sourcing and screening to selection and offer negotiation, ensuring a seamless experience for both candidates and hiring managers.
- Must be comfortable with a high-volume requisition load (150-250 roles at a time).
- Strong knowledge of modern Project Management tools, Applicant Tracking Systems, and HR technologies used to attract, nurture and manage a pipeline of talent and Onboarding of all candidates.
- Demonstrated ability to project manage, prioritize effectively, and work independently.
- Monitor recruitment metrics (e.g., candidate quality, source effectiveness, time to fill) and use data to drive continuous improvement
- Execute recruitment strategies for high-volume, tournament-time roles and niche skill sets, building a strong pipeline of candidates for specialized roles in an ever-evolving environment.
- Transition seamlessly from recruitment responsibilities to operational support during tournament events, assisting with staff mobilization and management as required.
- Collaborate with HR and workforce teams to adapt recruitment processes to meet high-intensity, time-sensitive tournament requirements, ensuring rapid deployment of personnel across venues.
- Coordinate with other operational teams to ensure that recruitment aligns with logistical and staffing needs during tournament phases, providing a proactive approach to personnel planning.

Education & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree (or equivalent) in Human Resources, or related field preferred.
Work Experience
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in a Talent Acquisition or HR/Workforce function.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills.
- Deep knowledge of modern CRM, Applicant Tracking Systems, and technologies used to attract, nurture and manage a pipeline of talent.
- Demonstrated ability to project manage, prioritize effectively, manage deadlines, and work independently.
- Ability to provide examples where excellent client service skills and the capacity to facilitate the needs of multiple business units has served you well in your career to date.
- Demonstrated ability to drive projects forward with minimal oversight, requiring a self‑motivated and self‑directed approach to work.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Expertise in using various social media platforms to advance traction on sourcing of key roles.
- Demonstrable adaptability and examples of where you’ve acted as a facilitator and/or negotiator.
- Experience working within a multicultural and or multinational organisation preferred.
Languages
- Fluent in English. Spanish and/or French proficiency is a plus.
Technology
- Highly organized with proven ability to manage complex documentation and large-scale data tracking. Proficient in MS Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio & Project), as well as planning software, online collaboration tools, Applicant Tracking Systems (ATS), HRIS platforms, and project management systems. Strong capability to maintain accurate records, ensure data integrity, and coordinate multiple workflows simultaneously in a high-volume recruitment environment.
