Position Overview
Birmingham Legion FC is seeking a strategic and creative Manager of Social Media to lead the club’s digital content and fan engagement across all major platforms. This role will be the club’s digital voice—owning content planning, creation, publishing, and performance tracking.
Key Responsibilities
  • Content Strategy & Planning

    • Develop and execute a social media strategy aligned with brand and marketing goals.
    • Collaborate with internal departments (ticketing, partnerships, creative) to support integrated campaigns.
  • Daily Management & Content Creation

    • Manage all official club accounts (Instagram, Twitter/X, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, Threads, LinkedIn)
    • Create and publish engaging, platform-specific content—matchday coverage, behind-the-scenes moments, community initiatives, etc.
    • Develop and distribute content geared towards growth in brand and attendance in collaboration with other business facing departments.
    • Write compelling copy and maintain a consistent brand voice.
  • Fan & Community Engagement

    • Actively engage with fans across platforms; monitor replies, comments, and DMs.
    • Be the live voice of the club during games, events, and key announcements.
  • Analytics & Optimization

    • Monitor social KPIs and analytics to optimize performance.
    • Provide monthly reports and insights to guide future strategy.
  • Trend Monitoring

    • Stay current with social media trends, platform updates, and digital innovations in sports.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in professional social media management, preferably in sports, entertainment, or lifestyle brands.
  • Proven success growing and managing large social media accounts.
  • Strong writing, editing, and visual storytelling skills.
  • Experience with social media tools, basic design/editing tools (Canva, Adobe Suite), and analytics dashboards.
  • Must be highly organized, self-motivated, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Availability to work nights, weekends, and matchdays as needed.
  • Passion for soccer and familiarity with the US soccer landscape is a strong plus.
