POSITION OVERVIEW
The Deputy Manager, Bus Mall and Parking Operations supports the planning, coordination, and live execution of bus mall and spectator parking operations at assigned FIFA World Cup 2026™ venues in Kansas City.
Working under the direction of the Bus Mall / Parking Operations Manager, this role assists in overseeing bus flow, load zones, parking operations, shuttle coordination, and pedestrian movement, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality service delivery across high-volume transport areas.
The Deputy Manager plays a key leadership role in field operations, acting as the operational lead during shifts or in the absence of the Manager, while ensuring alignment with KC26 Mobility plans and FIFA service standards.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Operational Support & Delivery
• Assist in the implementation of Bus Mall and Parking Operations Plans at assigned venues.
Bus Mall Operations
• Support the management of bus arrivals, departures, staging, and dispatch within designated bus mall areas.
Parking Operations
• Assist in overseeing spectator parking areas, ensuring efficient vehicle flow, entry/exit management, and space utilization.
Staff Supervision
• Supervise and coordinate field staff including marshals, parking attendants, queue managers, and dispatch support teams.
Shuttle Coordination
• Coordinate with staging teams and the Transport Operations Centre (TOC) to align shuttle dispatch and service frequency.
Crowd & Flow Management
• Monitor pedestrian and vehicle movement to prevent congestion and maintain safe operating conditions.
Stakeholder Coordination
• Liaise with Venue Operations, Security, LATMP/VAPP teams, Traffic Management, and transport providers.
Incident & Contingency Management
• Respond to operational issues such as delays, congestion, safety incidents, or service disruptions.
Accessibility Compliance
• Ensure ADA services and accessible transport operations are properly implemented and managed.
Monitoring & Reporting
• Track operational performance, vehicle movements, and incidents; support daily reporting and debriefs.
SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE
• Strong understanding of bus mall operations, parking logistics, and transport flow management.
• Ability to supervise teams in fast-paced, high-volume environments.
• Knowledge of vehicle flow, load zone management, and crowd movement principles.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to make real-time operational decisions under pressure.
• Familiarity with transport dispatch systems, radios, and reporting tools.
• Understanding of ADA accessibility standards and inclusive transport practices.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
• Minimum 2-5 years of experience in transport operations, parking management, or event logistics.
• Experience working in large-scale events, stadium operations, or high-traffic environments preferred.
• Previous supervisory or team leadership experience required.
• Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams and stakeholders.
• Fluency in English required; multilingual or bilingual ability is an advantage.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
• On-site, field-based role in high-traffic bus mall and parking areas.
• Outdoor work in varying weather conditions.
• Long shifts during match days, test events, and peak operational periods.
• Requires wearing high-visibility PPE and adherence to all safety protocols.
• Direct interaction with large volumes of spectators and operational staff.
